Sephora and Nectar Opens At Universal CityWalk

Sephora and Nectar Opens At Universal CityWalk

Fantastic news for my fellow beauty loving readers - Sephora and Nectar have opened on Universal CityWalk! You may have noticed CityWalk undergoing a makeover the past year and new stores such as Mini Monster and Voodoo Donuts have been added. Now there's even more reason to check out Universal City Walk - Sephora and Nectar.

Many of you may already be familiar with Sephora, as it is one of the major retail destination for beauty and skin care. The layout is similar to other Sephora locations but this one has wider aisles which will make browsing more comfortable.

This location offers services such as Mini Makeovers, Beauty TIP Workshops, Moisture Meter, and PERK Hydrating facial at their Skincare Studio. They also offer color matching at their Color iQ station where they use a handheld device and hold it up to 3 different points: neck, forehead, and cheek. This can determine the best match when it comes to your foundation, concealer, and even lip color! I heard about the color match service a while ago but I've never actually had one done in-stores. I asked for a demo and it was quick and easy! Once the color matching is complete, you get an entire list of foundations carried by Sephora in the shade you're matched with emailed to you. You can also digitally "try on" the foundation, concealer, or lip color right at the kiosk. This takes the guessing out of trying to find your perfect foundation shade and narrows down your choices.

Naturally, I'm incapable of walking out of Sephora empty-handed and left with a contour stick from Fenty and a sunscreen/skin protectant from SuperGoop

Just across from Sephora is Nectar, a store filled with bath goods such as soaps, bath bombs, body butter, and more. If you're thinking, "this is just another bath and body store" - think again. All the products are handmade, Vegan, cruelty-free, and made without parabens, sulfates, mineral oil, triclosan, DEA, paraffin or petrolatum. Sounds good so far? Here's another reason to fall in love with Nectar. Their soaps are in the shape of delicious desserts and treats so life-like you'll do a double take. The soaps are made into decadent treats such as cupcakes, ice cream scoops, macarons, popsicles, pie slices, donuts, and more! In fact, the store has a the most adorable bakery vibe and 100% Instagram worthy. They even have a "Donut Love" wall for the perfect selfie.

While visiting Nectar, I tried the Fruit Smoothie Scrub. This is made with natural sugar, blueberry seeds, cranberry seeds, and smells like the most delicious fruit smoothie. This is safe to use on your hands, body, and feet and is recommended to use once a week. For the demo, I tried it on my hands. After rubbing and massaging it all over my hands, I rinsed off and you guys, my hands felt like soft baby hands! I was in awe of how soft my hands felt. I've used sugar scrubs before but never had a result like this. The associate gave me a bit of body butter to smooth all over my hands and I was in heaven.

Speaking of body butter, Nectar offers a custom fragrance bar where you can create your own scented body butter, shower gel, shimmer mist, and more! There were so many scents to pick from so they helped me narrow it down by asking what type scent I liked the most. I ended up choosing Eucalyptus since I generally apply lotion before bed and the minty scent helps me relax.

Small but mighty. A little goes a long way.

This is the first Nectar store to hit California and I hope it's not the last. If you're in southern California, be sure to pay Universal CityWalk a visit and check out these new stores.
