Urban Decay Released New Naked Ultraviolet Palette

Urban Decay Released New Naked Ultraviolet Palette

The Naked Palette by Urban Decay has become a household name amongst the beauty community. I still remember the hype for the very first Naked Palette. Since then, Urban Decay has added multiple palettes to the collection, including Naked 2 and 3, Heat, Cherry, Smoky, Honey and Reloaded. Don’t forget the line of lipsticks, lipgloss, foundation, and concealer as well.

On June 18th, Urban Decay announced the newest addition to the Naked family - Ultraviolet. This is the most colorful Naked palette with bright shades such as an iridescent green, bright pink, and purples. In an article by Allure, Urban Decay founder Wendi Zomnir says “I think we've always stood for reinterpreting trends and beauty in a different way,” explaining that Ultraviolet is a reinterpretation of “neutral” makeup to include monochromatic looks with bright colors". It sounds like the goal of this palette is to encourage people to add a pop of color to their everyday look.

While I’m a huge fan of the Naked line, I’m opting out of this gorgeous palette simply because I have other palettes that feature similar colors and I already don’t reach for those enough. Knowing me, I would repeatedly tap into the first 5 shades (Trippin, Mind Slip, Dazed, Hacked, V.R.) and ignore the other shades. I’m glad that Urban Decay released a palette that features both neutral shades and bright colors.

The layout and the build of the Ultraviolet palette are similar to its predecessors. There are 12 shades in finishes such as matte, shimmer, satin, and metallic. All of this encased in a gorgeous pinky-purple slim case. The palette is priced at $49 and available.
