D23 Recap

Wendy and Laura recounts some of their favorite moments from D23, from the Disney+ streaming presentation to the Walt Disney Studio Behind-The-Scene presentation.
From Disney+, we’re looking forward to all the Star Wars content (come on, Obi-Wan?!). She Hulk, Ms. Marvel, and Moonknight announcement was a pleasant surprise. And unscripted series such as “The World According To Jeff Goldblum”, “Encore” is a nice addition to their slate of contents.
The Walt Disney Studios presentation wowed us with the footage from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and the image of Dark Rey with a double-bladed lightsaber, extended footage from Mulan, Raya and the Last Dragon, Soul, Onward, and closing out the presentation with a live performance by the cast of Frozen 2.
If you love all things Disney, look into attending D23. You’ll have the time of your life!

Millie Bobby Brown Launches Beauty Line

According to the website Byrdie, actress Millie Bobby Brown has launched her own beauty line. It includes everything from beauty to skin care. The line is called Florence By Mills, named after her grandmother. The packaging are in lavender and has a very clean and minimalist aesthetic.
The skin care products ranges from under-eye patches in shapes of whales to face mists. The beauty products range from cream blushes to tinted moisturizer. Everything is very much fitting to Millie’s targeted audience - tweens & teens, where it focuses on clean and bright skin. This doesn’t mean if you’re not the “target audience” you shouldn’t look into it. The products are for all skin types and is paraben-free, phthalat-free, and synthetic fragrance free.
I’m really interested in the under-eye patches and the Zero Chill face mist. You can shop the entire collection at the Florence By Mills website or in Ulta stores starting in September.

Favorite Summer Movies of 2019

While there were some great movies release this summer, it doesn’t seem like there were a ton of huge blockbuster films aside from Hobbs and Shaw. Tentpole movies such as Avengers: Endgame and Spider-man: Homecoming were release closer to April/May so it felt as if blockbuster summer flicks were missing, and indie films such as Booksmart and The Farewell took its place.
Here were some of our favorites:

Toy Story 4
Hobbs & Shaw
The Farewell
Booksmart
John Wick Chapter 3
Crawl
Once Upon A Time In Hollywood
